Blood Orange Margarita Recipe

orange margarita Have you noticed the big pile of blood oranges in the produce section? And then consequently wondered  what you do with those? Yeah, me too. My question was answered when KN and I were in Austin.

We ate dinner at a restaurant that was serving up these delicious cocktails. I love regular margaritas so I thought I should try out this version. These are just a little bit fruitier and not at all sour. After one sip I connected those blood oranges at the grocery store with drinking and that was the aha moment.

KN makes all of the liquor store runs so I put him up to the task. He researched the liquor department and purchased the ingredients, including this Corzo tequila, which is super smooth (like KN) due to triple distillation. I went all out and researched blood oranges, which are in season from December through May.

P.S. These margaritas would be delicious with these shrimp tacos! oranges for recipe   blood orange drink   drink recipe

On Sunday afternoon I was totally craving fresh baked cookies. Usually, like every single time I bake, I make the predictable Toll House chocolate chip cookies.
